We have eight teams in the North Western Pool League.  It’s easy to join us if you would like to, simply come down to the Hoppers Club when we meet on Wednesday evenings and you can join then.

We have Championships once a year, usually around October.

Latest Pool Report

Another season has come to an end with some success for Hoppers. We made it to both grand finals of the league finishing with a premiership and a runners up. Our Division 1 side went down to a stronger Altona team on the night and our division 2 side won a nail biter against North Suburban bringing the premiership to Hoppers. Following the season the league singles competition was played over the next three weeks at Hoppers and Altona that was won by Cranne Wrigley. After the singles final a presentation was held at Altona for both the singles competition and the league competition. CHALKERS   DIVISION 1 WINNERS     SHARKS DIVISION 2 WINNERS   On another note the Monday night “Big Bash” competition that is played out of Hoppers will be finishing with the finals being played on weekend August 4th-5th. New Season Starts

The 2018 season is under way. This year the competition has been broken up into two divisions in an effort to make the playing field a bit more even for the teams. in Division 1 there are seven teams, three from Hoppers comprising of the “Rattlers, Master-Baiters and Facecutters” from Altona Sports Club there are also three teams the “Chalkers, Assassins and Cueballs” and finally from the North Suburban Club the “Magic” to even up the fixture there is a bye round. In Division 2 there are eight teams five of them coming from Hoppers in The “Rebels”, “Sharks”, “Sharp Shooters”, “Wahine Toa” and the “Old Bastards” from Altona there are two teams the “Break Aways” and the “BB’s” and from North Suburban the “Knights” All is looking good for a great season of pool....

New Pool Club Life Member

Congratulations to Chris Depiazza on becoming our latest life member. Chris has been long time serving committee member of the pool club as well as being the self appointed caretaker of the poolroom and its equipment. He makes sure every week that the pool tables are in pristine condition for our comp players and that all the equipment is in good playing order. He also makes sure that the tables are used properly by the general public and that they are not being abused and is always there to offer advice on becoming a member of the pool club. HCC Pool Champions

A great weekend of pool was had by all who participated at the recent HCC Pool championships. The singles contest was held on Saturday 29/10/16 and attracted 32 players all with their sights on the title. After six and a half hours of some scintilating pool the final came down to two of the clubs best players in Paul Stone and Allan Hosking. The Final went to the wire after five enthrawling frames with Paul finally taking the honours for 2016  3-2 The doubles comp was held the next day and once again we had a good turnout of 30 players all keen to win the doubles title. There were some great matches on the day and the singles finalists Paul Stone and Al Hosking teamed up to take out the doubles title 3-2 after 5 hard fought matches against Scott Henderson and Jim Allport Congratulations to the winners and for the rest of us there is always next...

Where do you play the comps?

We play competition pool in the North Western Pool League at various venues that presently include Altona Sports Club, North Suburban Club in Moonee Ponds and the Hoppers club.

When do you play?

We play competition pool on Wednesdays evenings in the NWPL. Our annual championships are usually held in October and are played over a weekend with the singles played on the Saturday afternoon and the doubles played on the Sunday afternoon. Dates are announced prior to competition.

Do I have to be a member to play pool comps?

You have to be a member of the Hoppers Club and the Pool Sub-Club to join in the pool comps.

How much does it cost?

It costs $10 to join the Hoppers Club and a further $25 per year to join the pool sub-club. If you want to play competition pool there is further $10.00 league fee per season.

How do I join?

If you want to join our pool sub-club just come along on any Wednesday evening when the comps are on and speak with the sub-club president Al Brophy or you can ring him on 0417344065

Do you have Championships?

We have annual championships which are usually played in September/October each year.
