There is no doubt that swimming with a group will push you just a little bit harder than you would push yourself. Competition at your own level inspires you to improve, and it provides realistic and achievable goals. If you want to shed a few kilos and improve your fitness, then find that inner Geoff Huegill and come along to one of our training session.
We train throughout the year, Saturday mornings at Aquapulse, 80-82 Derrimut Rd, Hoppers Crossing. For details, click on the training button.
Fun, Fitness, Friendship, Competition & Achievement
If you are 18 year or older, the Hoppers Crossing Masters Swimming Club encourages you to start, continue or return to competitive swimming. If you are not interested in competition, we are also very happy for you to join us getting fit and staying fit by swimming.
Just turn up to our club training sessions. All abilities are welcome. Our coach, Leonie Wood, is happy to offer advice on stroke correction. Many have improved immensely under her guidance. The butterflier in the photo could not swim one stroke of butterfly before joining the club (in her late 40s) and here she is one her way to a Masters Swimming national butterfly medal!
In Masters Swimming competitions, you race against people who swim at your speed, not necessarily people of your own age or of the same gender. Races match people of similar nominated times, so it is a real race. You won’t be swimming against an Olympic champion, just because you are the same age. Yes, ultimately, those in a particular age group that swim the fastest times will be the ones who win the State or National medals, but you do NOT have to be a champion swimmer to compete in the interclub, state or even national championships. Anyone who enjoys a little competition at their own level is welcome. You can get fit, have fun and be proud of your achievement at any level!
